Comments: That first comment is cheating. So, speaking of Norbert Weiner, I found out the etymology of "cybernetics" in Greek class the other week and thought I'd share. The Greek word for steersman or pilot is cubernetike. When transliterating greek to english, the upsilon (u-sound) is generally (I know of no excpetions) converted to a letter "y" (for example, we get the English word "pysche" from "psuche", or soul). Therefore, it's easy to see that Weiner's theory of cybernetics is concerned with determining who or what steers any given system. All this tuition money came to something, at least.
